Mainland setups under the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) are typically chosen for physical stations in city areas and allow operations across the wider UAE market. UAE free zones are often used for fleet-focused operations, industrial sites, or multi-emirate service providers, offering 100% foreign ownership and simplified incorporation.
- Register your company. While free zones like DMCC or RAKEZ have long allowed 100% foreign ownership, this is now also possible on the mainland for many car wash activities, provided all regulatory approvals are obtained.
- Prepare your technical setup. For stationary car washes, operations must be located in commercial or industrial zones. These facilities must have proper drainage, oil and grease separators, and water recycling systems to prevent contaminated runoff from entering stormwater systems.
