The UAE transit visa is issued out either for a period of 48 hours or 96 hours. A 48 hour UAE transit visa is given free of charge. On the other hand, the 96 hour transit visa costs AED 50 (USD 13).

The UAE transit visa (48 or 96 hours) cannot be extended or renewed. Again, once the 48 hours transit visa is issued to you, it cannot be changed to the 96 hours and vice versa.
