MOHRE complaint 

First, MOHRE stands for Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. It is formally known as the Ministry of Labour.

MOHRE ensures the fundamental rights of workers with regards to labour law in UAE and employment in this country. It settles disputes between workers and their employers by following the right and fair laid down procedures. MOHRE outlines specific rules that safeguard the rights and privileges of workers, as well as the rights of the employers.

What is a MOHRE complaint?

In case you feel that your rights are being violated by your employer, you should go ahead and file a MOHRE complaint. 

Note: MOHRE can be used for making complaints for those who hold visas in Mainland companies. In case your visa is issued by a free zone company, your complaint should be filed to the respective free zone. 

Most common complaints are about the following: 

  • Salary not being paid
  • End of service benefit not provided
  • Holiday not provided
  • Maternity leave violations
  • Extended working hours being unpaid
  • Passport or Emirates ID being held by the employer
  • Residence visa not being provided

MOHRE complaints can be made using their online platforms or offline service centers. 

How to complain against a company in the UAE

There are a few ways to file a complaint to MOHRE:

  • MOHRE mobile app
  • Official MOHRE website
  • MOHRE service centres

Below is a step-by-step guide for each of the ways of complaint filing.

MOHRE complaint using mobile application

Below are the steps to take while presenting your complaints to MOHRE using a mobile app.

  1. Download the MOHRE app from Google Play or App Store
  2. Under the service overview  where different categories of people are listed, click on “Employee”. You may also choose other options available like “Employer”,  “Domestic worker”, etc.
  3. From the drop down option click on “Complaint”.
  4. Then at the end of the page, click on “Apply for this service”.  This takes you to a user verification page where you will enter your name and mobile number.
  5. Click on “Send OTP”, then an OTP would be sent to you for verification. 
  6. Still on the page, there are two user types: employee and employer or PRO. Choose the category you fall in.
  7. This takes you to a page to insert your labour card details, passport details or some of your personal details.
  8. Then hit “Search”.
  9. Add the details of your complaint then submit.

MOHRE complaint using official website

  1. Visit the MOHRE official website
  2. Select the service type you want from the options.
  3. Enter the complaint type, then the type of applicant you are, whether employer or employee.
  4. Enter your personal details in the spaces provided.
  5. Add the details of your complaints in the box provided.
  6. Then submit.

MOHRE complaint through Service Centre

If you wish to visit the service centre to lay your complaints in person then this option is for you. Just take these simple steps below:

  1. Visit any nearby TASHEEL service centre in the UAE. You can check locations
  2. Ensure to go along with all the necessary documents like Emirates ID, passport, offer letter, etc.
  3. You will be asked to provide your name and mobile number including that of the person or company you're filing against.
  4. Pay the transaction fee.
  5. You will receive your application number via email or mobile.
  6. Within 2-3 working days, you will receive a call from a legal advisor from TWA-FOUQ once your application has been processed.

Note: TWA-FOUQ is an approved service center that receives complaints directed to the MOHRE. They provide legal advice as well as possible solutions to labour issues. After receiving such complaints, they make investigations, then refer your case to the MOHRE for possible remedy.

What is the MOHRE complaint number?

The UAE MOHRE complaint number is the reference number given to individuals who file complaints against their employer or a company. Whether you use the mobile app, official website or opt to visit the service center there is always a reference number given to you. With this number, you can check the status of your complaint.

How to check complaint status in MOHRE

Using the MOHRE mobile app:

Once you login into the page, the first place you see is the column for the service inquiry. Fill in your transaction number in the box provided. Your complaint status will be displayed.

Using the MOHRE website:

You can visit their website and login with your details, then provide your reference number and submit. Your complaint status will be shown. 

MOHRE Complaint Number - 80060 

Alternatively, without following the steps listed above to file your complaints to the UAE MOHRE, you can simply contact MOHRE call center at 80060. This is also referred to as the MOHRE complaint number. A service centre representative will guide you on the simple steps to take.

Labour Court Dubai

Dubai Labour Court is where people register or file their cases pertaining to labour disputes. These individuals can be employers, employees, domestic workers or anyone involved in the labour disagreement or claims. All workers included under the labour code can be beneficiaries of the service.

Abu Dhabi Labour Court

This is the court established in the emirate of Abu Dhabi to mediate and resolve cases between workers both in the private and public sectors. They operate under the authority of the labour law to protect the rights of the people. The Abu Dhabi Labour Court is located in Musaffah.

Sharjah Labour Office

Just like every other labour office, the Sharjah Labour Office is a department related to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. This is where applications concerning labour crises are received and deliberated on for a possible resolution.

    Yes, If you want to file a complaint against your maid or any other household staff under your sponsorship, you should use the MOHRE app, website or Tasheel service center. You can file your complaints there and MOHRE will take steps to resolve the issues.

  • My maid ran away. How can I file a complaint?

    You can file a complaint with your maid’s details to MOHRE through mobile app, website or Tasheel office. The maid will be banned and deported from the country. If the maid was hired by another family, her new employer will get a 50,000 AED penalty.

  • I am entitled for an annual holiday ticket, but my company doesn’t provide it. How can I complain?

    If your employment contract has a clause about ticket provision, you can file a complaint against your company. MOHRE will contact your employer to resolve the matter.
